FAQs

Sugaring is a gentle, all-natural hair removal method made from just sugar, lemon, and water. It’s perfect for sensitive skin, removes hair from the root, and rinses off easily with warm water—leaving your skin silky smooth with less irritation.

Waxing is a tried-and-true method of hair removal that lifts hair directly from the root for ultra-smooth, long-lasting results. Perfect for all areas of the body, waxing leaves skin soft and stubble-free for weeks. With regular treatments, hair grows back finer and more sparse over time.

While both techniques remove hair from the root and leave skin silky smooth, the key differences come down to ingredients, technique, and how they feel on the skin. Sugaring uses a natural paste made of sugar, lemon, and water, and is applied at body temperature. It gently removes hair in the natural direction of growth, which can lead to less irritation and fewer ingrown hairs—making it a great option for sensitive skin. Waxing, on the other hand, uses a resin-based formula that adheres to the hair and skin and is removed against the direction of hair growth. It’s quick, effective, and ideal for removing coarse or stubborn hair. Both are excellent options—it just depends on your skin type, preferences, and goals.

For best results, hair should be about ¼ inch long—roughly the length of a grain of rice. This usually means waiting 2–3 weeks after your last shave. If hair is too short, the wax or sugar may not be able to grip it properly.

To make the most of your sugaring or waxing appointment, we recommend:

  • Let your hair grow to about ¼ inch
  • Gently exfoliate the area 24–48 hours beforehand to help prevent ingrown hairs
  • Avoid lotions, oils, or heavy creams on the day of your service
  • Stay out of the sun and skip tanning for at least 24 hours before your appointment.
  • Take a mild pain reliever (like ibuprofen) 30 minutes beforehand if you’re concerned about sensitivity.
  • Come with clean skin—no makeup, deodorant, or perfumes on the treatment area.

Nope! That’s a common myth. Removing hair from the root—whether by waxing or sugaring—does not cause hair to grow back thicker or darker. In fact, with regular treatments, many people notice their hair grows back finer, softer, and more sparse over time. Shaving, on the other hand, can make hair feel coarser because it cuts the hair bluntly at the surface.

Your skin may be more sensitive right after hair removal, so it's important to treat it with care. For the first 24–48 hours, avoid:

  • Hot baths, saunas, or steam rooms
  • Heavy workouts or excessive sweating
  • Tight clothing that could cause friction
  • Sun exposure or tanning beds
  • Touching or scratching the treated area
  • Scented lotions, deodorants, or exfoliants

Results from waxing or sugaring typically last 3 to 4 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle. You’ll usually start to see soft regrowth around the 2- to 3-week mark. With consistent treatments, hair grows back slower and finer, and many guests find they can go longer between appointments over time.
